A turbocharger oil inlet filter is an important component of a turbocharger system. Its main task is to filter the oil before it enters the turbocharger. This removes impurities such as dirt particles, metal chips or deposits from the oil to ensure optimum performance and service life of the turbocharger. The filter consists of an aluminum housing and a stainless steel filter element. The housing is designed to pass the oil through the filter element while retaining contaminants. The filter element itself is made of stainless steel, which provides high filtration efficiency. It is important to regularly maintain and inspect the turbocharger oil inlet filter to ensure that it is working properly. It is recommended to clean or replace the filter regularly to ensure optimum filtration performance. This may vary depending on the vehicle model and frequency of use.

We supply the oil filter with three different micron stainless steel filters: 30, 80 and 150.
The effectiveness of the oil inlet filter is often indicated by the so-called micron value. The micron value indicates how small the particles that the filter can effectively retain can be. The lower the micron value, the smaller the particles that the filter can filter out. The viscosity of the oil also plays an important role in determining which micron value should be used. However, a finer filter with a lower micron value can restrict the oil flow. This can lead to impaired lubrication and ultimately damage the turbocharger. It is therefore important to find the right compromise between filtration efficiency and flow rate. We recommend the Micron 30 filter for low viscosity oils and the 150 micron filter for high viscosity oils.
